(Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka; Founder, CEO, and President: Kunihiro Tanaka, hereafter \u201cSAKURA internet\u201d), built a cloud-based supercomputer system (hereafter \u201csupercomputer\u201d) called \u201cSAKURAONE.\u201d This supercomputer has ranked 49th worldwide in the \u201cTOP500<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">*1<\/span>,\u201d an international ranking of supercomputer processing performance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1968219773 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sakura.ad.jp\/corporate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Top500_logo_300dpi_cmyk-1024x580.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"580\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As demand for generative AI and large language models (LLMs) capable of optimizing diverse tasks rapidly rises, high-performance supercomputers that serve as the infrastructure supporting these technological developments are growing in importance. Supercomputers are increasingly being utilized as essential infrastructure for accelerating research and development in the AI field across various industries, including manufacturing, medicine, and finance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSAKURAONE,\u201d a cloud-based supercomputer ranked 49th globally, was jointly developed by the SAKURA internet Research Center and Prunus-Solutions Inc., a SAKURA internet Group company specializing in system integration in the area of hyper-performance computing (HPC).<br \/>\nThe design and construction of \u201cSAKURAONE,\u201d a cloud-based supercomputer specialized in LLM learning, were achieved through an LLM development project led by a national research and development agency that determined the optimal system configuration for running LLMs.<\/p>\n<p>This system utilizes \u201cNVIDIA H100 SXM 80GB GPUs\u201d and achieved 33.95 petaflops (PFLOPS)<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">*2<\/span>\u00a0on the LINPACK benchmark<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">*3<\/span>.<br \/>\nIn 2019, our company\u2019s cloud-based supercomputer ranked 54th worldwide in the same ranking. That cloud-based supercomputer has an actual measured performance of 3.71 PFLOPS, whereas \u201cSAKURAONE\u201d has realized over ten times that computing power.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the principle of turning \u201c\u2018what you want to do\u2019 into \u2018what you can do,\u2019\u201d SAKURA internet Research Center will continue its research and development endeavors to realize new and valuable internet infrastructures for society.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">*1 \u201cThe TOP500\u201d list was announced on June 10, 2025 (Japan time) at \u201cISC 2025,\u201d an international conference and exhibition on HPC held in Hamburg, Germany. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isc-hpc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.isc-hpc.com\/<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">*2 This is the abbreviation for peta floating-point operations per second, a unit for measuring computer processing performance.
