SAKURA internet Inc. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka; Founder, CEO, and President: Kunihiro Tanaka, hereafter “SAKURA internet”), a provider of digital infrastructure services, will start operating a container-type data center built on the grounds of Ishikari Data Center on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
In addition, the container-type data center is equipped with approximately 1,000 “NVIDIA H200 GPU” units and will offer an H200 plan as part of the first phase of the Koukaryoku generative AI cloud services, called the “Koukaryoku PHY” bare metal series.
The container-type data center was constructed to meet the recent rapid rise in demand for generative AI. To quickly provide GPU resources to even more customers, the container-type data center was built because it can be constructed in a much shorter time than a conventional data center. Building 3 at Ishikari Data Center, which was completed in 2016, took approximately three years and three months from planning to completion, while this container-type data center took approximately a year and a half from planning to completion.
Moreover, the direct liquid cooling (DLC) system*1 has been adopted. The use of the DLC system is expected to reduce the power consumption required for cooling, as it allows areas of the server generating high heat to be cooled with cold water, supplementing the air-conditioning system ordinarily used by SAKURA internet.
Furthermore, the conventional configuration limited GPU server capacity to two per rack, but the improved cooling capability allows up to five, thereby enhancing the facility’s operational efficiency*2.
The container-type data center has been newly equipped with “NVIDIA H200 GPUs” and will offer an H200 plan in “Koukaryoku PHY” bare metal GPU cloud services.
As a digital infrastructure company, SAKURA internet will continue to ensure a stable supply of computing resources and contribute to the ongoing development of a digital society.

“Koukaryoku” Generative AI Cloud Services
“Koukaryoku” provides cloud services for generative AI and is capable of utilizing high-performance GPUs. In January 2024, we launched the first phase of the “Koukaryoku” Series, the “Koukaryoku PHY” bare metal series, followed by the second phase, “Koukaryoku DOK” container series. The third phase is offered as the “Koukaryoku VRT” VM series.
SAKURA internet is advancing these services based on the belief that ensuring the stable supply of computing resources related to generative AI is essential to fostering the development of a digital society in Japan.
